Get Ready for More Rain in Metro Vancouver
Environment and Climate Change Canada is warning residents in parts of Metro Vancouver to brace themselves for heavy rainfall in the coming days.
After the morning rain eases up, the agency forecasts that additional frontal systems will sweep through the South Coast on Thursday night. Areas such as the North Shore, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge could receive up to 100 millimetres of rain by Friday afternoon.
Despite the downpour, there’s a silver lining in the forecast. According to 1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Michael Kuss, warm temperatures will persist in the region. Kuss anticipates that Thursday could be even warmer than the previous day, with temperatures possibly reaching double digits.
While some areas may experience heavier rain than others, Kuss notes that the southern regions and western parts of the Fraser Valley might see intermittent showers rather than constant rainfall.
The good news is that relief is in sight by the weekend, with Saturday expected to bring drier conditions and pleasant temperatures. However, the reprieve from rain may be short-lived, as wet weather is likely to return on Sunday and potentially linger into Monday.
