Police Nab Suspect Following Threats to Pickering Mosque, Ensuring Community Safety

Durham Regional Police apprehended a man from Toronto for allegedly issuing online threats towards a mosque in Pickering.

Following a notification from the RCMP on January 28, 2026, concerning threats against the Ahmadiyya Durham Mosque Baitul Mahdi on Salem Road, Durham police swiftly took action.

Subsequently, a suspect was located and arrested at a Toronto residence the following day.

The individual, identified as Ivan John Mujan, aged 65, is currently charged with uttering threats and has been released under an Undertaking.
