Authorities from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) have apprehended an individual for reportedly wielding a hypodermic needle at employees in a popular downtown discount store.
The incident unfolded at Dollarama located near the intersection of Granville and West Pender, with officers responding to the situation around 2 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon. According to reports, the suspect brandished the needle when confronted by store staff who requested him to vacate the premises. Additionally, the VPD stated that the suspect pushed one of the workers during the altercation.
Following the confrontation, law enforcement officers arrested the suspect on-site and subsequently transported him to a detention facility.
The individual in question, identified as 31-year-old Emaan Mirhashemi, faces charges related to the possession of a dangerous weapon.
