A man was injured in a late-night armed attack in Montreal for the second consecutive night. The incident took place near Crescent Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard in the Ville-Marie borough.
On Sunday around 3:40 a.m., a 45-year-old man became the victim of a sharp object assault during a conflict with an unidentified suspect. The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) reported that the victim sustained injuries to the upper body.
Authorities responded to a 911 call and arrived at the scene to investigate the incident. The victim was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment, with reports indicating that his condition is stable and not life-threatening.
The suspect fled the scene before the police arrived, prompting a search operation by law enforcement. Surveillance footage from nearby cameras will be reviewed, and witness statements are being collected to aid in the investigation.
Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM, emphasized that the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the suspect responsible for the assault.
