Scottie Barnes, the Toronto Raptors’ standout forward, has secured a spot in the upcoming NBA All-Star Game for the second time in his career.
Leading the charge for the Raptors this season, Barnes earned his place on the 2026 all-star team as a reserve, as announced by the league’s coaches on Sunday. Throughout the season, he has been a force to be reckoned with, averaging impressive stats of 19.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 49 games.
Not only is Barnes a key player on the court, but he also leads the NBA in total stocks, a combination of steals and blocks, with an impressive count of 136. This recognition follows his exceptional performance as the 2021-22 Rookie of the Year.
Joining a prestigious list of Raptors legends, Barnes becomes only the sixth player in franchise history to achieve multiple All-Star Game appearances while with the team. His first all-star nod came in the 2023-24 season, where he showcased his versatile skills by averaging 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
The announcement of Barnes’ selection was met with anticipation by Raptors’ head coach Darko Rajakovic, who also expected forward Brandon Ingram to be named as an all-star. Ingram, leading the team in scoring with 21.9 points per game, adds to the Raptors’ strong representation in the prestigious event.
In a league-wide recognition of talent, other standout players named as East reserves include Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Johnson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell, and Jalen Duren. Furthermore, Canadian basketball star Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets secured his first career All-Star Game nomination, joining an elite group of Canadian players in NBA history.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is set to captivate fans on Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, showcasing the best talent the league has to offer.
