Miraculous Escape: Car Vaults Guardrail, Dangles Precariously in Trees Above QEW Traffic

A young woman miraculously emerged unscathed after her car careened over a guardrail and ended up stuck among trees on an icy ramp near Niagara Falls last week. The incident took place on the morning of Friday, Jan. 30, on the QEW ramp bound for Fort Erie, leading to Highway 420.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the driver lost control of her vehicle on the slippery, ice-coated road surface. The car skidded into a snowbank on the side, ascended the embankment, and then soared over the guardrail before landing nose-first amidst dense foliage and trees.

The trees acted as a barrier, preventing the vehicle from plummeting onto the busy QEW lanes below, averting a potentially disastrous outcome.

Witnesses to the dramatic scene sprang into action, descending the embankment to extricate the woman from her precarious position inside the vehicle. Fortunately, she was alone and emerged from the incident uninjured. Authorities have stated that no charges are anticipated in connection with the accident.

In light of this incident, law enforcement is advising motorists to exercise caution, reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance, and stay alert for sudden shifts in road conditions.
