Toronto Police Intensify Search for Missing 90-Year-Old: Community Urged to Assist

The disappearance of 90-year-old Joseph Ng has sparked increasing concern as he remains missing for nearly a week now. Toronto Police are urgently appealing for assistance from the public to help locate him.

According to Constable Stephanie Miceli, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, the worry for Ng’s safety heightens with each passing day. Ng was last seen on January 29 wearing a beige coat, a red and black striped vest, blue jeans, and blue rubber walking shoes near Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East. He may also be driving a greyish-blue Toyota Corolla with Ontario license plate DCKX933.

Miceli emphasized the importance of not solely focusing on the vehicle but to also be vigilant for any sightings of Ng on foot. Ng, who resides in Scarborough, has health conditions that require medication, which he does not have with him. Given the recent cold weather, there are concerns that he might seek shelter in sheds or garages.

In a unique case, a command post has not been established due to Ng’s mobility after he was last seen at Coxwell and Gerrard. The police are reviewing surveillance footage and engaging with local businesses and residents to trace Ng’s movements.

Const. Miceli urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to Ng’s whereabouts, as community engagement has previously been instrumental in locating missing individuals. Anyone with helpful information is urged to contact 42 Division.
