“Modern-Day Robin Hoods? Activists Pull Off Daring Grocery Heist in Montreal, Claim Responsibility”

A daring act unfolded in Montreal as a group of activists, inspired by the legendary figure of Robin Hood, carried out a bold heist at a local grocery store. Calling themselves Robin des Ruelles, roughly 60 individuals donned masks and feathers as they seized thousands of dollars worth of food from a Rachelle-Bery store one evening.

The stolen food was not for personal gain but rather for a noble cause. It was distributed to community fridges across the city and left outside a subsidized housing building in the Hochelaga neighborhood.

This is not the first time Robin des Ruelles has made headlines with their unconventional tactics. In a previous event in December, individuals dressed as Santa and elves staged a similar raid on a different store to protest soaring food prices.

Authorities are now investigating the incident, with Montreal police looking into reports of theft and graffiti at a grocery store on Boul. St-Laurent believed to be linked to the masked activists. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and law enforcement is diligently reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses to apprehend the culprits.
