Canadian businessman Frank Stronach’s sexual assault trial in Toronto is encountering delays as his legal team requested more time to prepare due to a substantial amount of new evidence, including multiple videotaped statements. Updates on the trial’s progress are expected in court today, with Stronach’s lawyers set to provide an update. The 93-year-old tycoon, known for founding Magna International, faces 12 charges involving seven complainants for alleged incidents spanning from the 1970s to the 1990s. Despite denying all allegations, Stronach was initially charged with 18 offences related to 13 complainants in 2024, which were later split into two separate trials. The remaining allegations are set for trial later this year in Newmarket, Ont.
