Breaking: Seven Toronto Police Officers Arrested, Insider Reveals

CityNews has learned that seven Toronto police officers have been arrested, with four of them being suspended without pay.

The Toronto Police Association released a statement on Wednesday night confirming the arrests of some of their members but declined to provide further details about the investigation or the officers involved.

Reports suggest that the arrested officers are connected to a significant inquiry conducted by York Regional Police (YRP).

York Regional Police are preparing to reveal the outcomes of their extensive investigation into organized crime and corruption, known as “Project South,” on Thursday morning.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, YRP described the investigation as lengthy and highlighted its importance.

YRP Chief Jim MacSween and Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan are scheduled to address the media alongside Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw at the York Regional Police Service headquarters in Aurora on Thursday at 10 a.m. The press conference will be broadcast live on CityNews 24/7.
