Dramatic Chase Ends with Crash on Hwy 400: One Suspect Caught, Others on the Run After Vaughan Home Invasion!

Early on Thursday morning, a dramatic incident unfolded in Vaughan as a group of suspects involved in a home invasion crashed a stolen pickup truck on a major Highway 400 on-ramp. The incident led to a police investigation that shut down the area.

According to reports from York Regional Police, the incident began with a home invasion on Pine Valley Drive and Major Mackenzie Drive around 1:15 a.m. Several suspects forcibly entered the home, stole valuables, including a pickup truck, and quickly fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive.

Shortly after the home invasion, the suspects lost control of the stolen vehicle on the southbound Highway 400 on-ramp from Major Mackenzie Drive, resulting in a crash through a guardrail. It is important to note that authorities were not actively pursuing the suspects at the time of the crash.

The suspects abandoned the damaged pickup truck and fled on foot into the surrounding area. Responding officers managed to apprehend one suspect who was found carrying a bag containing stolen items. However, it is believed that three to four suspects were involved in the incident, with some managing to evade capture.

The on-ramp remains closed for an extended period as crews work to repair the damaged guardrail, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes by the OPP.

The investigation into this incident by York Regional Police is still ongoing and active, with efforts to locate the remaining suspects continuing.
