Montreal’s Own Music Maestro Strikes Gold Again, Clinches Second Grammy!

Just over a year ago, Chase Worrell embarked on a remarkable journey from Montreal to Los Angeles, California.

The talented songwriter and producer, originally from Brossard, had already achieved his first Grammy win in 2024 for producing the hit song ‘Silver Platter‘ by Khalid from the Barbie movie.

Now settled in a new city thousands of kilometers away, Worrell is living his dream. Following the recent award show on Feb. 1, he proudly clinched his second Grammy Award.

Reflecting on the moment, Worrell shared, “It’s a surreal feeling when you hear your album being announced, and you just pause for a moment. You’re filled with joy and excitement.”

Attending the ceremony alongside JHeart — a renowned singer, songwriter, and record producer who has worked with icons like Cher, Justin Bieber, and JLO — Worrell collaborated on the track ‘Overqualified‘ by Durand Bernarr, which contributed to the album winning the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album.

The song, co-produced and co-written by Worrell, originated from an idea he crafted years ago while residing in an apartment in Montreal’s St Henri.

Holding a degree in Communications from Concordia University, Worrell’s musical journey began at the age of eight with piano lessons, fueled by the inspiration drawn from those around him.

Grateful for the support he received, Worrell acknowledged the pivotal role played by his best friend Jason, his manager Corey Kastner, and his mentor ‘Child’ in his success. He emphasized the strong sense of community and collaboration within the Montreal music scene that has propelled him forward.

With a total of four Grammy nominations, including two wins, Worrell attributes his success to pivotal moments like winning Battle of the Beatmakers in Toronto in 2016, as well as his unwavering dedication and hard work.

Looking towards the future, Worrell teased that 2026 will be a bustling year filled with new music projects and endeavors. Despite a brief respite post-Grammys, he is back in full creative mode, eager to continue his musical journey.
