Mild Weather in Metro Vancouver to Take a Turn! Brace for a Dramatic Weekend Shift

Get ready to bid farewell to the mild winter weather in the Lower Mainland as temperatures are set to drop just in time for the weekend.

According to 1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Carl Lam, the unseasonably warm temperatures will come to an end on Saturday, with a decrease to around 7 to 9 degrees Celsius expected.

Not only will the mercury take a dip, but rain is also making a comeback on Saturday. Lam predicts a significant amount of rainfall, ranging from 15 to 25mm, with the bulk of it expected in the morning.

As we head into the first half of next week, the chance of more showers looms, though conditions are likely to improve by Sunday, offering some much-needed breaks of sunshine.

Interestingly, despite the imminent cooler weather, Metro Vancouver could be heading towards its first snow-free winter in over four decades, as noted by Environment Canada. Recent days have seen record-high temperatures, with West Vancouver even setting a new record for February 4 at 15.6 degrees Celsius.

The warmth even prompted an early opening of the Grouse Grind hiking trail, a move typically not seen until later in spring.
