“Police Halt Lamborghini in High-Speed Chase, Clocking Double the Limit on Alex Fraser Bridge”

A driver of a luxurious Lamborghini SUV saw their joyride come to a screeching halt as police nabbed them for zooming at a mind-boggling speed on the Alex Fraser Bridge.

According to the BC Highway Patrol, the driver was caught red-handed on a Wednesday evening, cruising at a whopping 197 km/h in a zone where the speed limit is just 70 km/h, all while heading northbound on the bridge.

The repercussions of this reckless act were swift, with the driver being hit with a hefty $483 fine.

Cpl. Michael McLaughlin sternly remarked, “Some drivers mistakenly believe that they can flout speed limits on bridges with impunity. Such a notion is not just illogical but also perilous. Bridges can turn into fatal accident sites in the blink of an eye.”

In addition to the fine, the driver now faces a seven-day impound of the vehicle and a minimum of three years of soaring insurance premiums due to their high-risk driver status.

“Exceeding the speed limit by such a colossal margin poses a grave danger not only to the occupants of the vehicle but also to everyone sharing the road,” emphasized McLaughlin.

Following the incident, the Lamborghini was towed away, leaving the driver to bear the costs associated with the retrieval.

Subsequently, the driver and two passengers had to rely on their families for a lift home.
