A man, aged 42, has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of arson incidents that occurred at the University of Toronto.
According to Toronto police, the man allegedly entered multiple buildings on the university’s St. George Campus in the Bloor Street West and Avenue Road area on January 14, where he set several fires resulting in property damage. After the incidents, the suspect escaped from the scene.
After a thorough investigation, authorities were able to identify and apprehend the individual. Yuriy Khraplyvyy, aged 42, was taken into custody on February 6 and now faces a total of twelve charges, including arson causing damage to property, mischief, failing to attend court, extortion, and uttering threats.
