In a startling turn of events, a 45-year-old man found himself held against his will inside a home in North Vancouver, leading to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) making a significant arrest of four suspects.
The distressing incident unfolded on a Thursday afternoon in a residence located near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway around 3 p.m. According to authorities, the suspects forcibly entered the house and detained the victim.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement at the scene, a nearby school was placed on hold-and-secure as a precaution for the safety of the students while the situation played out.
VPD Const. Darren Wong confirmed, “All four suspects were located inside a residence.” He disclosed that three of the suspects attempted to flee but were promptly apprehended by the police.
North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Mansoor Sahak mentioned, “Multiple individuals were detained, and the area was cordoned off for several hours to facilitate the investigation.”
Although details on the rescue of the victim were scarce, it was reported that he sustained minor injuries during the ordeal. Investigators suspect a deliberate targeting of the victim but have not divulged further information regarding the relationship between the man and the suspects.
In light of a possible connection to a previous incident, the VPD has taken charge of the investigation involving the four individuals. Wong emphasized, “The ongoing investigation is being managed by our Vancouver Police Major Crime Section.”
The swift response from law enforcement, including the mobilization of resources from the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team and North Vancouver RCMP officers, underscores the gravity of the situation.
As the investigation progresses, the four male suspects remain in police custody.
