An early morning fire caused significant damage to a bar in Montreal’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood, as reported by Montreal police representative Florence Stafford.
The incident occurred at a commercial establishment near Papineau Ave. and St-Zotique St. around 6:05 a.m., prompting the arrival of emergency services. Upon reaching the scene, authorities found the fire actively burning.
Montreal firefighters swiftly contained the flames, averting any injuries, although the building itself sustained substantial harm.
Evidence of possible arson was discovered, leading the case to be handed over to the SPVM arson division for further investigation.
To aid in uncovering the cause of the fire, a security perimeter was established, and investigators plan to scrutinize surveillance footage from the vicinity.
No suspects had been apprehended as of Sunday morning, with inquiries continuing into the incident.
