A man was injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on a Saturday evening at a Montreal metro station. The incident prompted emergency services to respond to a 911 call around 10 p.m. at the Place-des-Arts station on the green line of the Montreal metro, located on De Bleury Street in downtown Montreal. According to Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), the victim, a 30-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a knife wound to the upper body and was taken to the hospital. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, with the suspect reportedly fleeing on foot before law enforcement arrived.
In order to investigate the incident thoroughly, a security perimeter was established to secure the area for forensic analysis. Chèvrefils stated that investigators will be interviewing the victim once his condition permits and are also exploring potential surveillance footage that could aid in understanding the circumstances surrounding the event.
The SPVM’s investigation into the stabbing incident is currently ongoing.
