“Montreal Unveils Stunning New Reception Pavilion at Iconic Saint-Joseph’s Oratory”

Saint-Joseph’s Oratory Unveils New Pavilion to Enhance Visitor Experience

Nestled in the heart of Montreal, Saint-Joseph’s Oratory recently unveiled its new reception pavilion, a long-awaited addition aimed at improving the experience for the nearly two million annual visitors to this renowned site. The striking 36-metre glass bell tower, now a prominent feature at the entrance, proudly houses the Oratory’s majestic carillon bells.

Initiated in 2018, the construction of the pavilion faced setbacks but was successfully concluded last year. In an effort to maintain the breathtaking views of the basilica, most of the three-level structure was delicately built beneath Mount Royal.

A key highlight of the new design is the enhanced accessibility it offers, replacing the previous reliance on shuttle services and challenging inclines with a more convenient route directly to the basilica. Additionally, visitors can now enjoy modernized facilities including a revamped shop and cafeteria, all contributing to a more welcoming and seamless experience for pilgrims and tourists alike.
