Commuters faced major delays on Tuesday morning as a semi-truck collided with the median on the Alex Fraser Bridge, causing traffic congestion between Richmond and Delta. With only one lane open in each direction, vehicles were moving at a snail’s pace.
The incident not only impacted the bridge but also resulted in backups on the East-West Connector and Highway 99, affecting traffic flow through the George Massey Tunnel. Adding to the commuting woes, both the stal̕əw̓asəm and Pattullo bridges will remain closed until Feb. 13, further contributing to delays in the Lower Mainland.
