An incident unfolded in Longueuil early Thursday morning, leaving a 19-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries after an armed assault.
According to reports, multiple 911 calls came in at around 3:30 a.m. alerting the authorities to a wounded man on Saint-Édouard Street, with suspicions that a sharp weapon was involved.
Upon arrival, both police officers and paramedics provided immediate care to the victim before swiftly transferring him to the hospital, where he was initially deemed to be in critical condition.
Fortunately, updates from Longueuil police spokesperson Marie Beauvais later revealed that the young man’s life is now out of immediate danger.
In response to the incident, a security perimeter was set up as investigators meticulously combed through the crime scene for clues.
As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection to the assault, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward by contacting either 911 or the Info-Azimut tip line.
