“Firestorm in Montreal: Blaze Ravages Villeray-Saint-Michel, Leaves Four Families Homeless”

An early morning fire on Thursday led to the evacuation of several families in Montreal’s Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension neighborhood. The Montreal fire department responded to a blaze at a vacant residential building located at the corner of De Chateaubriand and De Bellechasse streets.

The fire heavily engulfed the building, which had two unoccupied housing units, prompting the evacuation of residents from four neighboring apartments as a safety measure. The Red Cross has provided shelter for four affected families.

Approximately 120 firefighters and 40 emergency vehicles were mobilized to combat the flames, eventually bringing the situation under control. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, as authorities continue their investigation.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
