Teen Arrested Following Gun Probe at Ajax School

Authorities have apprehended a teenage boy who was found with a firearm and drugs at a local high school in Ajax.

The incident unfolded at Father Donald Maclellan Catholic Secondary School shortly before 11 a.m. on Feb. 10 when concerns were raised about a student potentially having a firearm on school grounds.

Upon arrival, police successfully located the young male and took him into custody. Along with the firearm, the individual was allegedly in possession of drugs and a prohibited extended magazine.

It was discovered that the accused was already prohibited from possessing weapons at the time of his apprehension.

The 17-year-old resident of Ajax is now facing a series of charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, having unauthorized possession of a firearm and prohibited device, and violating a release order.

Following a bail hearing, he has been remanded to a youth detention center.

Due to legal constraints under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the male cannot be disclosed.
