“Strike Shuts Down Arthur Laing Bridge, Massive Overnight Disruption for Commuters!”

Traffic flow has been restored on the bridge connecting Vancouver to Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport this Friday morning following a collision with a barge.

The Richmond RCMP quickly responded to the incident at the Arthur Laing Bridge after receiving reports of the collision just after midnight. As a safety precaution, authorities temporarily shut down the bridge in both directions to assess any damage.

By later Friday morning, the RCMP announced the reopening of the bridge, but with the southbound lane near the midspan reduced to a single lane to facilitate ongoing assessments and repairs.

While the exact duration of the lane closure remains unspecified, drivers traveling in the area should anticipate potential delays.

For further updates and details, 1130 NewsRadio has contacted the B.C. Ministry of Transportation for additional information on the situation.
