The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has launched an investigation following a tragic pedestrian accident in the Cedar Hills neighborhood on Friday evening.
According to reports, the incident occurred on 128th Street as a pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle near 96th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Emergency response teams, including Surrey Fire Services and BCEHS, rushed to the scene along with SPS Frontline members.
Despite efforts to save her life, the pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman, tragically passed away from her injuries.
Authorities are looking into the possibility of impairment playing a role in the accident. The driver involved cooperated with law enforcement, staying at the scene and later being taken into custody.
