An unfortunate incident occurred in Chilliwack on Sunday morning, as the RCMP is currently investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another critically injured.
Authorities responded to a residence on Mellard Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. where they discovered two individuals with injuries. Tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, according to a police statement.
A heightened police presence is noticeable in the area, with the Chilliwack RCMP urging the public to avoid the scene as investigations continue.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is actively looking into the matter and promises to release further details in due course.
