Authorities have identified the victim of a tragic shooting incident that occurred in Chilliwack early Sunday. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has confirmed that 48-year-old Kristopher Benson lost his life following the shooting at a residence on Mellard Avenue.
IHIT is actively looking into the motive behind the incident, noting that it seems to have been a targeted and isolated attack. In an effort to progress the investigation, IHIT has disclosed the victim’s identity.
Additionally, law enforcement has reported that a second individual who was also involved in the shooting is currently receiving treatment at the hospital and is in stable condition.
