The sexual assault trial of billionaire businessman Frank Stronach in Toronto continues with another witness taking the stand today. The trial, presided over by a judge, commenced last Thursday after facing delays.
At 93 years old, Stronach faces a dozen charges related to incidents involving seven complainants dating back to the 1970s. The first complainant, a woman in her 60s, recounted an alleged assault in the early 1980s at Stronach’s restaurant. She claimed that he groped her on the dance floor and later woke up to realize she was being raped.
The defence has questioned the consistency of the woman’s account, pointing out discrepancies in her statements to police, the media, and the court over the years.
