Chaos on Montreal’s South Shore: Jewelry Heist Escalates as Thief Pepper Sprays Victim

Authorities in Longueuil, on Montreal’s South Shore, are currently probing an incident where an individual was pepper-sprayed during an armed robbery at a shopping center on Tuesday evening.

The Longueuil police received a distress call at approximately 5:30 p.m. regarding a robbery at Bijouterie Lavigueur within Promenades Saint-Bruno in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville.

Reports indicate that a group of suspects entered the jewelry store, took several items, and then fled on foot from the scene.

During the robbery, one person at the store was exposed to pepper spray and received immediate care from paramedics. Fortunately, there were no additional injuries recorded.

Following the incident, a security cordon was established around the mall, with law enforcement, including a K-9 unit, conducting a thorough search for the suspects.

Authorities have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted, analyzing the crime scene and gathering evidence to piece together the details of the robbery. As of now, the suspects remain at large.
