Abbotsford Police Nab Impaired Driver Transporting Four Children

A 27-year-old man has been charged with multiple offenses after being apprehended for driving under the influence while his four children were in the car.

The Abbotsford Police Department, also known as Abby PD, reported that the man was pulled over on Highway 11 at approximately 6 p.m. on February 12.

Upon conducting a breathalyzer test, the driver registered a reading that was two and a half times over the legal alcohol limit.

Authorities shared that numerous witnesses alerted them to the driver’s erratic behavior, as he had collided with two vehicles in the Langley region and fled the scene before his apprehension on Highway 11. Prior to this, the same vehicle was observed driving recklessly on Bradner Road, according to the police.

In a positive turn of events, none of the children sustained any injuries during the incident.

The Abby PD issued a stern statement, emphasizing that there is never an acceptable reason to endanger lives by driving under the influence.

So far this year, the Abby PD has intercepted 145 impaired drivers on the local roads.
