Halton Police Apprehend Man in Connection with Milton Break-and-Enters
Halton police have arrested a man in relation to a string of break-and-enters that have plagued Milton homes over the past year. The town saw a notable increase in residential break-ins throughout 2025, primarily occurring at night in trail spaces and green corridors.
An investigation uncovered that the suspects utilized e-scooters to swiftly maneuver through the area, enabling them to access properties discreetly. They would breach backyards by scaling fences, breaking doors, and looting homes for valuables, particularly jewelry and gold.
After the thefts, the culprits would make a quick escape on e-scooters before rendezvousing with a white 2021 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor as their getaway vehicle. Following a search operation in Mississauga, authorities seized jewelry, trail cameras, and electronic devices believed to be linked to the crimes.
Abliamit Ziiadinoz, 29, is currently facing 26 charges related to 13 break-and-enters that took place in Halton Region between September and December 2025. Despite his apprehension, a second suspect remains at large, prompting a call for information from the public.
The stolen items are estimated to exceed $400,000 in value, alongside property damage to the targeted residences. Police are diligently working to return the belongings to their rightful owners and ensure justice is served.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Magee emphasized that these crimes are linked to organized theft groups from Eastern Europe and Latin America participating in ‘crime tourism.’ Investigators suspect Ziiadinoz and the unidentified second suspect are behind additional break-and-enters in Milton and neighboring areas.
As authorities continue their efforts to combat organized crime impacting community safety, they urge residents to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to assist in apprehending those responsible.
