“Major Weekend Traffic Alert: Charles-De Gaulle Bridge and Highway 520 Set for Key Roadwork!”

Montreal Drivers Alerted to Weekend Road Closures by Transport Quebec

Montreal motorists should prepare for disruptions as Transport Quebec announces partial road closures scheduled for the upcoming weekend. The affected areas include Highway 40 at the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge and the Highway 520 overpass over Cavendish Boulevard.

Starting at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, until Monday, Feb. 23, a lane closure in each direction on Highway 40 between Gouin Boulevard East in Montreal and Route 344 will be in effect. Within the construction zone, some lanes may be reduced to 3.3 meters, with a speed limit of 50 km/h in both directions.

Meanwhile, Highway 520 will experience a full closure between Exit 5 — Hickmore Street — and the Côte-de-Liesse interchange from 10 p.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Saturday, with another closure from 10 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday. A detour will be available along the service road, although occasional nighttime closures may occur.

Moreover, on the night of Feb. 23 to 24, ramps at the Côte-de-Liesse interchange will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Transport Quebec advises drivers to monitor Quebec 511 for updates as work may be delayed due to inclement weather conditions.
