A section of eastbound Highway 401 in Mississauga is shut down due to a multiple-vehicle accident, according to provincial police.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the incident near Winston Churchill Boulevard early Friday morning, around 6:30 a.m.
Police are currently evaluating the injuries resulting from the crash, with updates to follow.
The closure impacts the eastbound express lanes from Mississauga Road to Mavis Road, as well as a left lane in the collectors.
The Ministry of Transportation has confirmed that the affected area will remain closed for an extended period.
