“Stronach Sexual Assault Trial Heats Up: Complainant Faces Intense Cross-Examination”

Canadian Businessman’s Defence Lawyer Challenges Accuser in Sexual Assault Trial

In a high-profile court case, the defence lawyer representing Canadian businessman Frank Stronach is continuing to question a key accuser today. Leora Shemesh, the lawyer, engaged in intense cross-examination with the fourth complainant, who is sharing testimony in the trial related to alleged incidents from the early 1980s.

The courtroom proceedings were interrupted by legal issues as the complainant mentioned preparatory meetings with the prosecution, sparking concerns over potential coaching. Shemesh is pushing for a stay of proceedings, alleging that the Crown may have influenced the complainants’ testimonies.

During Thursday’s session, the accuser was asked about her interactions with the prosecution in January, to which she maintained that she received no guidance on her testimony. Stronach, aged 93, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges involving seven complainants and spanning several decades.

Due to a publication ban, the identities of the complainants remain confidential. The trial, which commenced last week after initial delays, is expected to feature testimonies from all individuals involved.
