Pallas Data poll: Parti Québécois’ lead narrows, the Liberal Party gains ground

The new leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ), Charles Milliard, is pleased with his party’s rise in the polls, seven months before the general election.

According to a poll by the firm Pallas Data published Wednesday, the Parti Québécois (PQ) would still be in the lead in voting intentions (30 per cent), but the PLQ would not be far behind, with 27 per cent of support.

This would represent a decline of four points for the PQ, and a rise of three points for the PLQ, compared to the previous Pallas poll, published on Jan. 10.

“That motivates us, obviously,” Milliard said at a press conference at the National Assembly Wednesday morning. “What’s important is the trend we’ll observe.”

Furthermore, according to the Pallas poll, the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) would come in third place, with 16 per cent of voting intentions, followed by the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ), which would only garner 14 per cent of support.

Québec solidaire (QS) would come in last, with 10 per cent of voting intentions.

The poll also highlights a decline in support for Quebec sovereignty: 32 per cent of respondents would vote for sovereignty if a referendum were held today, a drop of three points since January.

The opinion poll was conducted on behalf of Qc125 and L’Actualité on Feb. 21 and 22, 2026, among 1,075 Quebec respondents aged 18 and over. The margin of error for the full sample is ±3%, 19 times out of 20.
