24-year-old injured in Plateau shooting

A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot early Wednesday in the Plateau.

Montreal police (SPVM) were called just before 1:15 a.m. following several reports of gunfire in the area of Durocher and Sherbrooke streets. Responding officers located the injured man at the scene with a wound to his lower body.

Police say he was conscious when he was transported to hospital for treatment.

SPVM say the suspect had already fled by the time officers arrived. Investigators secured the area overnight, setting up a perimeter to search for evidence and speak with potential witnesses.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation by the SPVM is ongoing.
