Police are investigating after an assault in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Wednesday afternoon.
The Vancouver Police Department says the victim reported getting in a fight with the suspect on East Hastings Street near Gore Avenue.
He claims the fight ended when the suspect “pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the back twice and walked away.”
Police say the victim asked a nearby business for help, where staff called for emergency services.
“He was taken to hospital where his wounds were deemed not life-threatening,” said the VPD.
Investigators are now looking for the suspect, who is described as wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants at the time of the attack.
