REM users will need to pay closer attention before boarding their train starting Friday, as a new phase of testing begins ahead of the planned opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch this spring.
Transit officials say station screens will now display two possible directions for trains departing from Brossard: Bois-Franc or A4 – Deux-Montagnes. Riders are being asked to verify the direction before boarding.
Trains heading to Bois-Franc will terminate at that station, while passengers travelling to stations between Bois-Franc and Deux-Montagnes will need to board trains marked A4 – Deux-Montagnes.
The change is part of ongoing dynamic testing designed to fine-tune the network’s timetable, including train arrival and departure times and service intervals. In the coming weeks, trains are also expected to run as far as Anse-à-l’Orme as testing continues.
Transit officials recommend riders check station screens, listen to onboard announcements and consult real-time trip planners before leaving.
