Geopolitical tensions cause gas prices to dramatically rise in Quebec

Drivers filling up this morning certainly felt the pinch as prices at the pump have risen by 10 to 20 cents per litre in Quebec.

In Montreal, some businesses were posting $1.65 per litre of gasoline and $2.13 for diesel on Thursday.

The war in Iran and gas supply chain disruptions are causing gas prices at home and around the world to shoot up.

Across the province, gas prices are soaring – and are likely to continue to rise as long as the conflict continues.

The domino effect could continue, as additional costs for retailers are then passed on to consumers.

With diesel climbing above $2.00 in several places, there are also concerns that this will also affect the costs of whatever is being transported on trucks running on diesel, hitting consumers even more.
