Consumer Protection BC announced on Wednesday that certain customers who purchased tickets to Taylor Swift concerts in Vancouver in December 2024 could get some of their money back.
The provincial regulator says that it has reached a deal with the ticket resale platform StubHub to reimburse those customers whose seats had limited views.
Louise Hartland, spokesperson with Consumer Protection BC, says that her organization decided to launch an investigation into the company’s ticket sales practices after a complaint from consumers.
“Anyone who was seated in sections 219 through 236, and in sections 418 through 437, whose tickets did not say that they would have an obstructed or limited view of the stage, may be eligible for a refund from StubHub,” Hartland told 1130 NewsRadio.
Taylor Swift’s tour broke records worldwide and saw resale prices skyrocket to thousands of dollars per ticket.
Her final three concerts were held in Vancouver’s BC Place.
Hartland adds that StubHub is required to follow the rules laid out in the Ticket Sales Act, including listing all prices along with fees and the face value of the original ticket.

“The price listed should be in Canadian dollars unless it specifies a different currency, and there should also be some description of the location of seating, and if the view is obstructed or something, it should also disclose that on the ticket.”
She says that StubHub will get in touch with customers eligible for a refund by May 1.
“What we want people to know is that anyone who bought tickets through StubHub to Taylor Swift concerts in Vancouver in December of 2024 and sat in specific sections behind the stage may be eligible for a refund from StubHub.”
