Delta police investigating shots fired at business believed to be extortion-related

The Delta Police Department (DPD) says it is investigating after shots were fired at a business overnight.

Officers were called to the Tilbury Industrial Park, located on Vantage Place near Vantage Way, at around 3:30 a.m. Friday, after a report of possible shots fired.

When they arrived, they found bullet casings and determined several shots had been fired into the business, which was not occupied at the time.

Police say CCTV footage shows occupants of a white sedan firing several shots into the business before leaving.

“Preliminary investigative information indicates this to be a targeted incident, believed to be related to extortion,” the DPD said.

“Investigators will be liaising with policing partners and the Provincial Extortion Task Force to determine if there are any links to other files.”

Anyone with information or video footage is asked to call the DPD at 604-946-4444 or email tips@deltapolice.ca.
