Lapu-Lapu survivor Blaine Redlac is calling for answers from the festival’s organizer, Filipino BC.
Redlac sustained serious injuries from the car-ramming attack as well as suffered the loss of both his fiancé Jendhel May Sico and friend Glitza Daniela in the April 26, 2025, tragedy.
He is now seeking transparency from Filipino BC, which received the biggest share of the $2 million donations that were raised for victims and families.
Redlac is asking Filipino BC to disclose how much of the raised funds went to victims and their families and how much they paid their staff and contractors and service providers.
On March 27, Redlac held a press conference to deliver a letter to the offices of Filipino BC outlining his questions regarding financial disclosure and accountability.
“I wish to emphasize that this request is made to support transparency and maintain community trust. Open disclosure will help reassure donors, partner organizations, victims, and the broader public that funds donated for humanitarian purposes were managed appropriately,” Redlac said in his letter.
Echoing the sentiments of other survivors and families, Redlac also asked Filipino BC to stop its plan to hold a Lapu-Lapu Day at the Italian Cultural Centre on April 19.
