A 65-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a home invasion in Surrey Friday, police say.
Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers were called to the home on 32B Avenue near 144th Street shortly after 11 a.m. after a report that armed individuals had entered and then left.
“Inside the residence, a 65-year-old female was located suffering from a serious injury consistent with being struck by an object,” the SPS said.
“She has been transported to hospital to receive treatment.”
The motives are unknown, according to police. SPS media liaison Ian MacDonald tells 1130 NewsRadio the incident doesn’t have the earmarks of being related to extortion.
Anyone with information is asked to call SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and refer to file number 26-28314 (SP).
