Montreal police (SPVM) arrested a man and a woman after a dispute at a residence escalated to the man being stabbed in Montreal-North Saturday night.
According to SPVM, a 911 call was received shortly after 9 p.m. reporting that a man was injured with a sharp object at a residence on Chartrand Street near Léger Boulevard.
When police arrived, they found a 56-year-old man with upper body injuries and a 30-year-old woman in the house.
According to initial reports, an altercation broke out between the couple, and the woman allegedly stabbed the man, said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
He was transported to hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
Both the man and the woman were arrested, but the man was later released after questioning.
The woman remains in custody and will meet with investigators Sunday.
