The BC Provincial Extortion Task Force has pressed a single charge in connection to a shooting that occurred at a Surrey business in the summer of 2025.
Through Task Force investigative efforts, a suspect was identified and located in Calgary, Alta. The 22-year-old male was arrested on March 27.
He appeared before court in Alberta and was remanded in preparation for his transfer back to British Columbia.
He is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing and his next court appearance is on March 31.
The incident in question happened on July 21, 2025, at a banquet hall located in the area of 81 Avenue and 128 Street. The shooting happened overnight but was not discovered until the next morning.
