The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after shots were fired at a business in Cloverdale early Monday.
The incident appears to be related to extortion, police say.
Officers were called to the area of Production Boulevard near 54 Avenue around 9 a.m. Monday, but the time of the shooting is believed to have been around 1 a.m.
“The business owner and police noted damage to the exterior of the business,” SPS Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.
“The business was not occupied at the time, and there were no reported injuries.”
Houghton says it’s the second business in the complex to be targeted with gunfire, after an incident on March 23. At the time, police said they hadn’t linked that incident to extortion, saying the motive was being investigated.
Anyone with information is asked to call the SPS at 604-599-0502 and refer to file 26-12122 (SU).
