Two men injured in stabbing at Montreal bar

Two men were injured in a stabbing late Monday evening in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough.

Montreal police say officers were called shortly after 11 p.m. to a bar on Monk Boulevard near Springland Street for reports of a man armed with a knife.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s with injuries to his upper and lower body, as well as a 31-year-old man who suffered injuries to his lower body.

Both were taken to hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

Police say the stabbing followed an altercation between the man in his 40s and a suspect. The 31-year-old was injured after intervening. The suspect fled the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and a canine unit was deployed to search for evidence.
