Transport Quebec says part of Highway 136 will be closed in both directions next weekend to demolish part of the Saint-Urbain Street overpass.
Officials say the closure will take place between 11 p.m. on Friday Apr. 10, and 5 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 13.
During that time frame, westbound Highway 136 will be closed between Panet Street and the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier Street. For this closure, traffic will be rerouted on Viger Avenue and Saint-Antoine Street West.
Starting a half hour later, eastbound Highway 136 between Exit No 4 — Victoria Bridge, R.-Bourassa Blvd., de la Montagne Street — and the entrance from Atateken Street will close – and traffic will be diverted to Saint-Antoine Street.
On-ramps onto the highway will gradually start closing 30 to 60 minutes prior to the complete highway closure.
Additionally, the Saint-Laurent Boulevard overpass, between Viger Avenue and Saint-Antoine Street, will be closed between 10 p.m. on April 10 and 10 a.m. on Apr. 11.
Work may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions, and officials recommend that anyone planning to travel should check Québec 511 before hitting the roads.
