Nearly 300 grocery stores accross Quebec won’t have much in the way of fruit and vegetables over the Easter long weekend.
The shortage is due to a strike at Metro’s distribution centre in Laval, meaning Metro and Super C stores accross the province are short on some produce.
The strike at the distribution centre was called on Monday, and officially began on Thursday.
An offer was reportedly tabled Thursday morning before the strike began; however, union members unanimously rejected the deal of 11 per cent wage increases over six years.
