Lady Gaga cancels Montreal concert due to respiratory infection

Montreal’s fanbase of Little Monsters were dealt a big blow on Monday.

Just hours before she was set to take the Bell Centre stage, Lady Gaga announced she was cancelling her Montreal concert because of a respiratory infection.

The artist made the announcement on her Instagram story shortly after 5 p.m., saying she’s been fighting the illness “for the past few days.”

“My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve,” she wrote.

The Grammy Award-winning singer added she “truly could not feel worse” about letting down her fans.

“I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me.”

This would have been the third Lady Gaga concert in Montreal as part of her worldwide tour ‘The Mayhem Ball.’ She performed at the Bell Centre Thursday and Friday. She called those shows “magical and deeply meaningful.”

“To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry.”

Event promoter Evenko said fans who bought tickets online will automatically receive a refund on their credit card, while those who bought tickets in person must reach out to their customer service department to get refunded.
